About Accounts - First things first. In order to do most things here, you'll need an account. Don't worry, this isn't so we can sell information about you. In fact, we don't do that. The reason we need to know who you are is because we allow you to save settings on the site, to make moving through easier. You won't have to log on to each section, and we'll remember who you are when you need to renew a subscription. If you don't want to set up an account, you can always browse the ads for free, but you won't see a contact phone number until you have a subscription.
Setting up an account is easy. On the top right of the page select "Create an Account". Fill in all the information requested and click on "Submit Information." If you have an exisiting account click on "Login" on the top right.
Logging on to your account is a matter of clicking on "Login". Enter your e-mail address and the password you chose when you set up the account and click Logon. That's it. You have an account and you're logged in.
To purchase a subscription, click on "Subscribe" located at the top (middle) of the page. If this is your first time buying a subscription on the new site, you'll need to enter a credit card. (Note: Purchasing a subscription online only gives you access to an online subscription, you do not get a Paper Shop mailed to you).
Click on the link that says "Click Here to Edit Your Credit Card Choices" and enter the requested information. As a service to you, we'll store your credit card information for you so that when you need to renew, you won't have to type that information in again. In the future, you can just select that credit card from your credit card list. (Yes, that means you can add more than one card to the system. And for the security-conscious among you, we're storing your credit card information using Triple-Des Encryption.)
Once you've entered your credit card, select the card to use and the length of subscription and you're finished. Now, when you look through the ads, you'll also get the contact phone numbers for the items.
Placing an ad is similar to purchasing a subscription. You must be logged in. Select the "Place Ad" button (top middle of page). Select the type of ad you wish to run. There are three choices, each with a description of the terms of that particular type of ad. (Please review the options carefully as by submitting your advertisement you are accepting all of Paper Shop's terms and policies.) Fill in all the fields in the box and then click on "Submit Information." For Prepaid Commission and Non-Commission ads, you'll have to either enter a new credit card number or choose from one you've previously entered. Be sure to have a credit card entered prior to entering your ad information. Should you need to go back all information entered will be lost. (Be aware of the text guidelines for each type of ad).
Commission ads are a bit different. Since your commission fee is determined by the advertised price of the item, we need you to enter your billing information, along with the one category you wish to have your ad placed in, and the ad text. Once you've done that, clicking the Place Ad button will send it off to us.
Changing/correcting an ad is similar to placing an ad. You must be logged in. Select "Change or Correct an Ad" located in the green bar at the bottom of the page. Enter your name, address, phone, email address and current ad category in the form. Enter a description of your ad, along with the changes/corrections you'd like made in the "Ad Text" box. When you're finished, click the "Submit Information" button to send your change/correction.
Rerunning an ad is similar to placing an ad. You must be logged in. Select the "Rerun Ad" located in the green bar at the bottom of the page. Enter your name, address, phone, email address and current ad category in the form. Enter a description of your ad, along with any changes/corrections you'd like made in the "Ad Text" box. When you're finished, click the "Submit Information".
Reporting an Item Sold is similar to placing an ad. You must be logged in. Select "Report an Item Sold" located in the green bar at the bottom of the page. Enter your name, address, phone, email address and current ad category in the form. Enter the item you sold. When you're finished click "Submit Information." If you are the seller of the Item being reported, Paper Shop will cancel the ad and send a bill if necessary. If you are not the seller Paper Shop will contact the seller and verify if the item is in fact sold. If it is still available for sale, we will give the seller your information so they can contact you and we will follow-up with you to let you know the item is still available.
A note about searching the listings: We've built a sophisticated search function into this website. There are actually three types of searches: Search By Category, Keyword Search and Search By Price. You can search by any one of these three, or can combine all three for a more detailed search. Type "Boat" into the Search words box, and we'll show you every ad, in every category, that contains the word boat. You can narrow your search by selecting the category "Toys" (maybe you're looking for a toy boat and want to exclude the actual water craft that we list. You can narrow the search even further by setting either a low or high price limit, so you see only listings in the category "Toys" that contain the word "boat" and are priced between $20 and $100. See, we told you it was sophisticated. Note: Our search engine only applies to classified advertisements, not Photo or Business advertisements.
Be warned however, that the more specific you get, the less results you'll receive. There just aren't that many listings like the one we described, so a better search might leave out either the dollar amount or the category.
Experiment! Have fun!! You never know what treasures you're liable to dig out of our virtual pages.
